Refreshing the Cloud First policy and strengthening cloud adoption across the public service

April 2023 — Cabinet endorsed the Cloud First policy, and considering te ao Māori perspectives and sustainability principles. This decision includes, over time, storing RESTRICTED information in New Zealand-based data centres.

Summary

To help government organisations achieve the benefits of using public cloud services, Cabinet endorsed phases:

  1. the refresh of the Cloud First policy
  2. additional interventions to realise the outcomes of the Cloud First policy.
