If you were watching the news towards the end of January, you might have seen a lot about Winter Storm Jonas in the US. If you haven't seen some of the statistics, the blizzard dropped up to 91 cm (3 ft) of snow in parts of the East Coast and the Mid-Atlantic from 22–24 January.
In between feeling pretty good about being in the middle of our Southern Hemisphere summer and a long way from any snow storms, you might have noticed that there were some good news stories about the storm.
