Dr. Edgar Pacheco is Netsafe’s principal researcher. Netsafe is the approved agency under New Zealand’s Harmful Digital Communications Act 2015.
Edgar holds a PhD in Information Systems and a BA (Hons) in Public Policy from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. Edgar’s overall research interest is on the impact of Information and Communication Technologies on society. As a research analyst, he plans and implements Netsafe’s research in regard to online safety and digital challenges and risks. Edgar has also conducted and published research on new technologies in the context of higher education, young people, and disability.
