The Digital Public Service (DPS) branch is undertaking a series of engagements with a selection of government agencies to gain their feedback on current and future states for digital standards maintenance and development.
This work will result in an implementation plan and roadmap for standards which will be released to all public sector organisations for consultation in early December 2020.
Government Digital Standards Catalogue
An updated version of the Government Digital Standards Catalogue will be released this September 2020 on Digital.govt.nz. The user guide for the catalogue is available on the Public Sector Intranet (PSI).

We’ll be reviewing aged standards in the Catalogue with the lead public sector agencies in September and October 2020.
Data and Digital Standards Community of Practice (CoP)
The DPS branch is also working with Statistics New Zealand through the Government Chief Data Stewart, and Standards New Zealand to form a new Data and Digital Standards Community of Practice.
A draft terms of reference for the CoP has been released for discussion. The CoP organising committee will ratify the terms of reference and invite interested people to be part of the CoP.

The role of the Data and Digital Standards CoP
The role of the CoP will be to host regular activities that focus on learning, collaborating, promoting, championing and aligning good data and digital standards practices across the New Zealand Public Service.
The CoP will provide a platform for sharing information, experience and practice in relation to data and digital standards. The aim is to use data and digital standards more effectively and efficiently to achieve the outcomes of the Strategy for a Digital Public Service and the Data Strategy and Roadmap.
The Data and Digital Standards CoP replaces any existing data standards communities of practice.
